Aside from flour, grits are the kind of food we’d be happy to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—every single day, which is why we’re so particular about the difference between just ‘good’ and our outstanding grits.
Our milling approach to grits might seem a little old-fashioned to some, but it takes a cue from our ancestors. First, we source only 100% organic yellow corn. Our experienced millers grind the corn slow and steady across the lands and furrows of the millstones, carefully making sure it reaches the perfect degree of coarseness.
The characteristically coarse grind on Lindley Mills’ grits is what makes them old- fashioned. Your great grandmother would recognize these grits and consider them real food. Ordering: How it works
Place your online order for Lindley Mills’ Old-Fashioned Stoneground Yellow Corn Grits prior to midnight on Wednesday, November 16th, 2016. On Thursday and Friday November 17th and 18th, we will be packing and shipping out all of the orders for delivery just in time to arrive for Thanksgiving or a hearty breakfast before your Black Friday shopping spree.
Any orders we receive between November 17th and December 18th will be packaged and shipped early the week of December 19th so they can arrive in time to be given as a gift or eaten as a treat on Christmas morning.
Cooking Instructions for Lindley Mills 100% Organic Old-Fashioned Stoneground Grits:
Bring 3 cups of water to a boil; add 1/2 cup of Lindley Mills Organic Old-Fashioned Stoneground Grits and bring back up to a boil. Reduce heat to medium/low and slow cook for 25 minutes, stirring often until all water is absorbed and grits become thick. Add butter, salt, and pepper to taste and enjoy!
Yield: Makes about 2 cups of cooked grits.
